PTW is basically about the dangers of magic. When Twilight was transformed into an Alicorn, she didn't really know how much magic she really earned. But when she discovers how powerful she has become, she decides to take matters into her own hands as the magic consumes her. The princesses try to stop this but it doesn't work, so they ask friends, former enemies, and love interests to try to stop Twilight from losing all control.
