Bleh, long week. I won't bore you with the details... Usually, this is where I step in and defend my choice of leading lady, but this time I think that I need to address the choice of hero instead. Robin Hood is done surprisingly often by others and usually Rainbowdash is the one playing this part. I'm not going to pretend that she didn't cross my mind, but it was a lot closer a debate than I expected. See, Robin has all the traits these two have in common. Both AJ and Rainbow are outdoorsie types, both are very competitive, both will go the extra mile for their friends. Most importantly of all, Robin's biggest character trait is that he's a bit of a show-off and normally that would tip it in favor of Rainbow. But I want you to consider one thing: Why do Rainbow and AJ do what they do? Rainbow likes the cheers of the crowd, she wants to join the team she idolizes, and basically have everyone think she is awesome. Meanwhile, AJ is almost always working for others. She wants to be the best so she can help her family, or fix up the town hall, or just make good apple products for others to enjoy. In short, Rainbow is focused on herself and AJ is focused on others. Robin may absolutely love being the best at what he does and making sure everyone knows it, but I just can't overlook that the only reason he steals at all is to give it all away to the needy. By a very slim margin, AJ is the better fit for this role. Sigh, look at me. Brain the size of a planet, and do I own My Little Pony or Disney? No. All I do is sit here and wait for them to tell me to take you to some bridge. Call that job satisfaction? Cause I don't...
