People who have been with me for years know that I absolutely love it when Disney pulls out a song that makes you feel. My top three songs are Feed the Birds, Out of Thin Air, and God Help the Outcasts, after all. So this song is not only my favorite song in this movie, it’s my favorite Disney song out of any movie this decade. Yeah, I’m looking at you, Frozen and Moana! It shows how long I’ve been thinking about this that when I first planned this pmv, it was going to focus on Twilight’s new wings due to the line “Or did something break we can’t repair”. Shame I couldn't find room to keep it in, but it turned out so well I didn't want to force it in.

Lots of casting choices here, so a brief touch on each. Some are obvious. Twilight as Kermit, Rarity as Ms. Piggy, and Rainbow as Gonzo were easy picks. Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayham… is a little too involved to go into here, so more on that in the Why Did We Wait video. Applejack as Fozzy… now follow me on this one. While Pinkie might seem the first choice for the comedian, you need to remember that Fozzy’s jokes are all stand-up while Pinkie relies on slapstick for the most part. They are different kinds of humor, and they make for personalities that just don’t mesh together. Now what else is Fozzy like? Fozzy is Kermit’s best friend, always there to lend a shoulder for him to vent on, and is always the first to offer Kermit support; basically the number 2 muppet. So who’s usually Twilight’s second-in-command? It is almost always Applejack.

And as for Fluttershy as the Swedish Chef? Well, I honestly had no idea who would work as the Chef, Fluttershy wasn’t anyone yet, and I wanted all the Mane 6 in this song somewhere. What? I never said all my choices were essay-length masterpieces…
