A little different from my usual work, but I’ve got plans for this mic and I need to learn how it works. This is my favorite poem and I’ll take any opportunity to spread awareness of its insanity. I’ve seen several readings of it on Youtube before, but never ones where the reader tried any kind of speed or keeping to a meter. This was actually my fifth take, as while I can recite this almost perfectly on my own, apparently I get nervous when I know someone else will be hearing me. I flubbed up some parts; “Post and doth” threw me and I said “Arkansas” with the accent it’s not supposed to have but everyone uses anyway. Still my best run I captured, and I don’t know if you can hear it but I was getting a little hoarse by this take. As far as the mic test goes, I guess I was leaning in a little too close to it or something, but at least it came out clear. I’d appreciate any feedback, both on how my recording sounds and on my performance, so I can improve. And I dare you to mute this video and try it yourself! This poem is tongue twisters incarnate!
