This is a song that has been sitting in my back pocket for a while. I wrote it back around the time of my senior year in college as a good bye to my friends who were moving everywhere around the country. Shortly afterward, my grandmother passed away, and this song took on a whole new meaning. I've been wanting to share it, but until recently I couldn't get the right combination of sounds I wanted.

Special thanks to my friend Jake Smith for providing his talents on the acoustic guitar, electric guitar, banjo, and most of the backing vocals. This song is a hundred times better than if I tried to do it on my own!

To my brony listeners, I hope you don't mind me uploading these non-pony songs every once in a while. Though this song was not inspired by pony, I often thought of the scene where young applejack goes to live with the oranges, leaving the farm behind. I felt this would be a good song for Big Mac to sing (internally) as she left.

Bonus: "Benediction" refers to the bestowing of a blessing (Bene-good, diction-word). It is very common at the end of a church service to bestow a benediction before the people go their separate ways. So I hope this song is a blessing to you as you go!
