To think that all it took was One friend ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I am very happy with how this piece turned out, and I consider it to be my best mixed song to date. While this track wasn't originally created in mind for it, I am happy to have it included in another Lycan Dese Beats album. Music for a good cause is always worth it. This song is a little personal for me, and I think it tackles a part of the "magic of friendship" not discussed very often: forgiveness. A friendship won't last very long or be very deep without forgiveness. Sometimes, your friends will do something hurtful to you. Sometimes, you will do something hurtful to your friends, even if you don't realize it. If your friendship is true, the hurt may not be malicious, but it is still there. Forgiveness means that these things are not held against them or against you, and it is absolutely necessary to help a true friendship thrive. After all, it is impossible to hold a grudge if you forgive. I think that sunset shimmer is an excellent example of this, which is why in my headcanon she is the element of forgiveness. This song also has another meaning for me. As a follower of Jesus, I can't help but acknowledge Him in my music. You see, because there is evil in this world, we are separated from God. No matter how hard we try, we cannot bridge the gap on our own. Knowing this, God sent his son Jesus to live the perfect life we couldn't live, fully connected to the Father. Despite this, Jesus took on the punishment we deserve, dying a horrible, painful death. He was buried, but three days later he came back, offering forgiveness and salvation to all who will accept him. This salvation is often described as being "reborn": "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." (John 3:3) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17) "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead," (1 Peter 1:3) I can truly say that I am a different person because of Jesus. He has given me hope and a purpose. His invitation still stands, His hand is outstretched. If you have made it this far, thank you for your support.
