“Equality" BGM from the episode “The Cutie Re-Mark, part 1” of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” (S05E25). --Overall Comments-- Holy crap, this episode! Probably the most intense, darkest, and most complicated episode of My Little Pony to date. We get to travel through multiple timelines, see all of the major old villains reprised, and see how they would have taken over if not for the Mane 6. Plus, we get some more of the awesomeness that is Starlight Glimmer, who is consistently one step ahead of Twilight at every turn. And of course, her much awaited backstory and motivations are also revealed. This episode just blows most others out of the water with its scale, story telling, animation, and music. Being able to see all the different versions of the mane cast through each timeline was amazing, and just the idea of answering the question “what would happen if Twilight and the rest of the mane 6 never got together/the rainboom never happened” is something many have been awaiting for a long time. William Anderson's score of this episode was simply fantastic. It is filled with reprised motifs from previous episodes, both from this season and previous ones. Each villain’s motifs are reprised for them, some of which we haven’t heard since the first two seasons of the show. I have so many themes to point out in this episode, I’m probably going to miss a few! To top the entire two-parter off, we have an awesome song that starts out a little slow, but builds into a fantastic final part with most of the main MLP cast showing up in what can only be described as a series finale that isn’t actually a series finale. I can’t wait to see what season 6 and the movie have in store, as somehow even after the phenomenal season 4 finale, the MLP staff have found a way to raise the bar for themselves yet again! It’s been a fun, yet quick ride this season, and thank you all for all of your support! We have another long hiatus ahead of us, but if this season was any indication, another amazing 26 episodes of MLP await us on the other end. I will see you once again on the flip side for season 6 and the next Equestria Girls movie! --Track Specific Comments-- Starlight brainwashes some of the Cloudsdale fillies with her “equality” ideals. The track begins with some very “innocent” woodwinds, strings, and harp. The ominous theme from the season 5 premiere’s “The Cutie Mark Vault / ‘It’s a Trap!’” is used for the third time here as Starlight’s plans continue to take effect. (Watch in 1080p!)
