Genealogical Research" BGM from the episode "Pinkie Apple Pie" of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" (S04E09). --Overall Comments-- This is probably the funniest episode of the season so far, but with a great heart. It's great seeing some interaction between Applejack and Pinkie, who don't always directly interact without the rest of the Mane 6. It's also great to see more of the Apple Family and how they act together and with Pinkie, and is especially interesting to see their faults. Most interesting is how Pinkie, in the end, is the one who teaches them a lesson about family. Of course the BGM is filled with the country-type themes that are always following Applejack around. But the biggest part of the episode has to be the song, "Apple to the Core." This was highly anticipated after it's premier at Comic-Con earlier this year, and boy did it deliver! The animation was fantastic, especially after how amazing the storyboards were. But it was best to finally hear the song in high-quality non-camrip version! --Track Specific Comments-- Twilight is in the middle of reading before Pinkie Pie...appears....in her...bookcase.... Pinkie inquires what she is reading, and Twilight tells her she is studying genealogy. After reading through one of the family line scrolls, Pinkie finds that she's a distant cousin of....Applejack! This episode starts out with a new BGM motif which I rather like. It's a really soothing way to start off, which fits with what Twilight is doing onscreen at the time. (Watch in 1080p!)
