--Overall Comments--

Rarity invites Applejack to judge her fashion competition, wanting her tastes in practicality on the judging team.  However, Applejack’s honesty may not be the best policy in this case!

This episode has been a long time coming, and features some pretty funny dialogue.  William Anderson drops quite a bit of score on us here as well, featuring plenty of variety in sounds.  Being an Applejack-focused, this episode features plenty of guitar and banjo, including a lovely new piece of montage score at its conclusion.  More high-class score is also featured for each of the other judges, as well as the three contestants.  Photo Finish brings back her theme, and the club music from last season makes its second appearance in Season 7 for the fashion show at the end.  And how can I not mention that Rarity guitar solo?!

Rarity introduces Applejack to Strawberry Sunrise, who really dislikes apples and isn’t afraid to rub it in your face.

The scene is backed with one of my favorite pieces of score from the series “Blast from the Past,” which originally appeared in season 5’s “Amending Fences.”  It appeared again in “The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows,” and again last season in “P.P.O.V.”  This version ends on a minor key as Strawberry tells AJ how she feels about apples.
