--Overall Comments--

And here we are again! After 7 years, MLP enters its 7th season on air, and what a way to start off!  The show is doing things a little differently to start off: having two distinct, yet connected episodes to begin the season, rather than a two-parter.  So, here’s we’ll be talking about just “All Bottled Up.”

Score-wise “All Bottled Up” is a little more subdued than the episode it’s paired with, “Celestial Advice.”  We hear some drops of Starlight’s and Trixie’s leitmotifs, as well as the return of the new spa theme from last season.  The episode builds up to another emotional ending, with another wonderful composition in “A Strong Friendship.”

While this episode might be a little lighter on the score, it does feature our first song of the season, “Best Fiends Until the End of Time!”  It’s quite the catchy number, and a good way to start the season off song-wise.  It’s sad to hear this season will only be featuring 5 songs, so we have 4 more to go.  Quality over quantity, as they say.
