The Mane-iac" BGM from the episode "Power Ponies" of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" (S04E06). --Overall Comments-- "Power Ponies" was definitely a different kind-of episode for the series, both in story, visuals, and music. I was interesting to see the shows' take on "superheroes" in the Pony universe, as well as be much more "parody heavy" than the show usually is. Plus, we got a pretty cool, very over-the-top villain. William Anderson and team hit the nail on the head in terms of their parody of the style of superhero movie/television show music. Their main motif immediately reminds you of numerous superheroes theme tunes, and is just fun to hear repeated throughout the episode. --Track Specific Comments-- The Mane 6...err, Power Ponies...do battle with the Mane-iac, but ultimately do not succeed due to them (most of them, anyway) not being used to their newfound power. This is the longest track from the episode, running in at just under 4 minutes. There are three other tracks around 3 minutes in length (and one just over 2), which is high for episode BGMs. This track, like most of the others from the episode, relies heavily on the horn section, as you would expect from a superhero soundtrack. Throughout you will hear the Power Ponies theme as each pony tries, and usually fails, to use their ability. (Watch in 1080p!)
