Golly this one was quick.....Kicking off the new year with some Slipknot drum covers. The shape has always been one of my favorites from the band. It kinda feels good playing faster, speedier metal stuff again. I don't really consider myself a speed freak on the drums, but this song definitely challenged me to be fast yet precise and tight which was the reason I played it. 
One thing I'm really happy for though is the drum sound itself. I think I cracked the code on getting as close as I can to recreating the Iowa drum sound featuring key sounds like the Sabian 9 inch radia bell, a 12 inch snare drum, and fairly clicky kick drum. I also got to use the program Xtrax stems to drown out the original drum track and make my drums the centerpiece.
