I wanted to write some more background-y music, specifically what you might find in an RPG video game. Something that does not demand your attention, yet that has enough complexity and little details that if you DID want to focus on it, there would be enough there to keep your ears occupied. I love listening to songs like that, which reward you with little counter melodies and harmonic textures when you listen closely that you might not have noticed the first time. I have been a little rusty on outright orchestral music for a while but I have been writing a lot and I feel like I am starting to get a little better at it, especially the performance aspects. I think my strings feel more natural than they have in any of my other songs. I was pulling my hair out for months trying to figure out how I could improve and I think I finally made some breakthroughs, small progress is good! Anyways I hope you enjoy, I think the image and poem fit the song perfectly and helps me to get in the mood. Imagine wandering about a forest filled with unusual sights and sounds. There are shadows in this forest but it is not an evil place, merely strange. No beasts will hunt you down, but be wary of sticking your nose where it is not welcomed. Be careful, but not cautious. _________ Under sleepy branches a strange light shines, in the forest a magic path comes from nowhere, leads nowhere. My shadow fled, I am without body. dissolved in moonlight. My step remains suspended in mid-air, My hand touches emptiness. -Aaro Hellaakoski __________________ (HQ DL) bandcamp: https://zephysonas.bandcamp.com/track/the-strange-forest Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/user259131559/the-strange-forest Art: https://www.deviantart.com/freeedon
