Updated version, using Sony Vegas. I dunno. With Sony Vegas I was able to get rid of unnecessary letterboxing imposed by Windows Movie Maker, but I also found it a real pain to do anything with animated text --- as in, fading it in and out. I eventually gave up trying to do that, and the built-in manual was unfortunately no help there as far as I could tell. Worst, you'll notice a lot more pixelation: Vegas 10 began producing more and more artifacting the larger the project became. I ended up re-capping quite a bit of footage three times in order to splice together one reasonably good take. Vegas 10 is certainly a lot more flexible and capable of professional quality than WMM is, but I'm finding it more difficult than it really should be to perform simple tasks and keep the video memory from slagging down.
