Shadows of the Past

Hidden in the darkness deep,
The evil master’s madness sleeps,
Silent as the beating throbs,
Behind the ever growing sobs.
Quick as a blade, a flash of light,
It strikes my heart with deafening might,
Reverberating through the whole,
Stirring emotion within the soul.
Blood as tears runs freely down,
Streams of red adorn the ground,
Insistently the voices cry,
“Just let it die! Let it die!”
